Glide has made GlideOS publicly available, expanding its no-code app builder into a workspace for building and operating connected business software. The launch adds an App Store, AI-generated workflows and integrations with more than 1,000 external tools.
The company unveiled the public release in a live launch event and says the new features are available to people signing up for GlideOS. The product is aimed at operational teams that want to turn data and process descriptions into internal apps without starting from a conventional software project.
The App Store offers working systems, not just screen designs
The GlideOS App Store contains pre-built apps for common business and industry use cases. A user can browse from the dashboard and copy an app into their account, then edit its data, layout and features like any other Glide project.
Some listings arrive as a connected set. Glide gives the example of CableOS, which installs four linked apps for managing cabling work in data centres. Starting with working app files can reduce both setup time and the AI credits needed to generate a familiar application from scratch.
A template still needs scrutiny before it becomes part of a live operation. Teams should verify data fields, permissions, calculations and process assumptions rather than treating a pre-built system as automatically suited to their organisation.
Workflows turn plain-language requests into automations
GlideOS Workflows let a user describe an automation in natural language. The system builds the workflow as an artefact inside the relevant project folder, where it can interact with the project’s apps and connected services.
A workflow can start on a schedule, from a webhook, in response to a trigger or through a manual action. Multiple triggers can be attached to one workflow and switched on or off independently. That provides more flexibility than duplicating the same sequence just to accommodate another starting condition.
Each workflow has its own screen showing the ordered steps and a plain-language description of what each step does. Run history is available for investigating failures. Those visibility features are important when an AI system assembled the automation, because an operator needs to understand the generated process and see what happened during a particular execution.
More than 1,000 services can enter the project
Integrations connect GlideOS projects to services such as Salesforce and Slack. A user can add one from the project’s Integrations section or describe the task in chat, where GlideOS can suggest the required connection and guide the setup.
Connected services can supply workflow triggers or perform steps within an automation. A customer-record change might start a process, for example, or a completed app action could send a message to another business system. Credentials can be refreshed or a connection removed from the project’s integration settings.
The breadth of the integration catalogue increases what teams can automate, but it also expands the security surface. Each connection should receive only the permissions it needs, and generated workflows should be tested with non-production data before they are allowed to write to critical systems.
Public availability makes GlideOS easier to evaluate
The release brings the GlideOS environment, App Store and newly announced workflow capabilities into public use rather than a closed launch phase. Glide invites users to begin with a spreadsheet, a description of an operational problem or a pre-built app.
The announcement does not replace the product’s detailed pricing and usage rules. Prospective teams should check current plan entitlements, credit consumption and integration availability against the workload they intend to run. A workflow that executes frequently can have a very different cost profile from a lightly used internal app.
GlideOS now combines three routes into the same result: copy an existing operational app, ask AI to build one, or connect and automate the tools already in use. The public launch makes that combined proposition available to a wider audience, while leaving teams responsible for validating the software and automations on which their operations will depend.
