Anthropic gives Agent Skills a vendor-neutral home at the Linux Foundation
Anthropic is donating the Agent Skills specification, brand, GitHub organisation and domain to the Linux Foundation’s Agentic AI Foundation. The folder-based standard has been adopted by more than 70 agent platforms, with one million skills published and nearly 280 million installations. Maintainers from Anthropic, Google and OpenAI will guide versioning, proposals and security work.
