Cohere launches North Small Translate for sovereign machine translation
Cohere has released North Small Translate, an open-weight mixture-of-experts translation model for research and non-commercial use. The 218-billion-parameter model supports more than 50 languages, targets high-throughput translation, and gives organisations another option for controlled, sovereign language workloads. It gives evaluation teams a focused open-weight alternative for multilingual document processing and localisation pilots.
