OpenAI has introduced the Agents API, a developer interface for building and operating agent workflows. The launch offers teams a more direct surface for AI systems that can work through multi-step tasks with tools and context, while requiring deliberate permissions, monitoring, evaluation and human-approval boundaries for dependable production use.
