What is Google AI Studio
Google AI Studio is the browser workspace for prototyping with Gemini models, creating Gemini API keys and moving applications into Google Cloud deployment.
Free and paid tiers
As of September 19, 2026, the Free Tier provides limited free use of eligible models at lower rate limits, with content eligible to improve Google's products. The Paid Tier uses prepaid billing, starts with a US$10 minimum top-up, raises limits, enables features such as context caching and batch processing, and says paid prompts and outputs are not used to improve Google's products.
Gemini 3.8 Flash, 3.7 Flash and 3.6 Flash currently have an introductory standard rate through December 31, 2026 of US$0.75 input, US$3.75 output and US$0.075 cached input per million tokens; Google lists US$1.50, US$7.50 and US$0.15 from January 1, 2027. Gemini 3.5 Flash is US$1.50 input and US$9 output, while Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite is US$0.30 and US$2.50. Google also publishes separate rates for live audio, transcription, image, video, music, embeddings and robotics models.
Enterprise
Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform uses custom pricing and adds enterprise support, security and compliance controls, provisioned throughput and volume discounts. Deploying an AI Studio application to Cloud Run creates separate Google Cloud infrastructure charges.
