What is H2O.ai

H2O.ai develops open-source machine-learning software and the commercial H2O AI Cloud platform. Its portfolio spans automated model building, deployment and monitoring, generative-AI assistants, document processing, feature management, application development and enterprise governance.

H2O-3 open-source pricing

As of August 7, 2026, H2O-3 costs US$0 in software licence fees. It is distributed under the Apache License 2.0 and can run locally or on infrastructure managed by the user through Java, Python, R or Scala interfaces. It includes distributed data processing, supervised and unsupervised algorithms, AutoML, model interpretation and deployment artefacts. Users remain responsible for their own compute, storage, operations and any connected cloud services.

H2O AI Cloud

H2O AI Cloud is sold through a custom enterprise subscription with Managed Cloud hosted by H2O.ai or Hybrid Cloud deployed in the customer's cloud or on premises. H2O.ai does not publish a reliable numeric cloud subscription rate, so buyers must request a proposal based on deployment, capacity, support and selected components.

The base platform combines the AI App Store, AI Engine Manager, Driverless AI, H2O-3, Wave SDK, MLOps, Workflows and platform services. Optional paid subscription components include Hydrogen Torch, Label Genie, eScorer, Document AI, Feature Store, Enterprise h2oGPTe, LLM Data Studio and LLM Eval Studio. Commercial deployments can add managed infrastructure, enterprise identity and access controls, monitoring, governance and support.

Choosing the free or commercial route

H2O-3 is the no-licence-fee route for teams able to operate their own machine-learning stack. H2O AI Cloud packages H2O's modelling and application tools into a supported platform for organisations that need managed or private deployment, lifecycle management and optional enterprise AI components.
