What is Photoroom
Photoroom creates and edits product imagery with background removal, retouching, resizing, generative backgrounds, virtual models, shadows, relighting, video and batch workflows. Its app subscriptions and developer API are billed separately.
App plans
As of August 7, 2026, Photoroom offers Pro, Max and Ultra app subscriptions with monthly or annual billing, but its public page does not expose a reliable numeric subscription amount for every region; the current local amount is shown at checkout. Pro includes unlimited core editing tools, AI Backgrounds and AI Fashion Models. Max adds the Video Generator, a larger AI-credit pool and Shopify integration. Ultra adds a still larger allowance and 4K image and video resolution.
Enterprise is custom-priced and adds tailored credits, adjustable AI shadows, visual QA, specialist support and ROI data, early feature access, SLA and SSO, and dedicated onboarding. Monthly AI credits and exports are shared across a workspace and renew each billing cycle; API and MCP use has a separate allowance.
API pricing
The Basic Remove Background API costs US$0.02 per image and starts at US$20 per month for 1,000 images. It includes background removal, cropping or resizing, colour backgrounds and the API dashboard. Plus costs US$0.10 per image and starts at US$100 per month; it adds positioning and padding plus AI backgrounds, shadows, relighting, PhotoFix, Product Beautifier, composition, Virtual Model, Flat Lay and Ghost Mannequin.
The eligible Partner plan costs US$0.01 per image and starts at US$1,000 per month for consumer-facing apps processing at least 100,000 images monthly and displaying the Photoroom logo. Enterprise API pricing is custom with volume discounts and a 200,000-image annual minimum. Developers receive 1,000 watermarked sandbox calls per month and ten free production Remove Background calls. Self-serve API plans are monthly, can be cancelled or changed, and unused images do not roll over.
