Microsoft has made more than 20 purpose-built legal skills generally available in Copilot, alongside plugins for research, document and matter management, signatures, specialist legal AI and e-discovery. Word preserves tracked changes and formatting, while approved SharePoint precedents, enterprise protections and explicit user approval keep lawyers responsible for final language.
Harvey has introduced a playbook builder that converts legal teams’ existing contracts, templates, marked-up documents and guidance into structured review rules. The builder identifies gaps, preserves source citations and lets lawyers refine the resulting playbook through a guided conversation before using it in Word or the web app.
Harvey has acquired Benchmark, a decision-infrastructure platform used by asset managers to organise institutional knowledge and evaluate deals. Benchmark's founders and team will join Harvey's product and engineering organisation, giving Harvey a broader route into investment workflows while integration details and customer migration plans remain limited.
